After that I was able to play and if you wanted the dlc files to work you need to transfer them from steams folder into the Quake 2 folder which it would boot from. Well I have a copy of Quake 2 that I got from a friend and was able to copy the exe file from the game program then deleted the steam file for quake 2 compleatly and made steam search for my file and add it to my libary.
